Blair Loughrie

Executive Director

Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Blair developed a love and respect for the outdoors while canoeing and camping with her family along the Maury, Jackson, and James Rivers. Blair was first introduced to the West (and fly fishing) in 2008 when she worked at Moose Head Ranch with Louise Davenport, one of Stripping for a Cure’s dedicated strippers and supporters. Upon graduation from James Madison University with a Master’s in Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, she quickly returned to make Jackson her permanent residence. Over the past 14 years, she has taught Spanish at Jackson Hole Community School and Wilson Elementary. Blair joined Stripping for a Cure as a volunteer and board member in June of 2019 before transitioning into the role of Executive Director in October 2019. Having watched her mother and grandmother battle breast cancer, Blair is particularly passionate about the cause and the women it touches. In her free time, she can be found biking, fishing, backpacking, running, and skiing.

Amy Aubrey

Amy became involved with Stripping for a Cure over 13 years ago, when she moved to Jackson. She was immediately drawn to the camaraderie and fellowship of the women already involved and has become an active participant and volunteer ever since. Many of Amy’s family and friends have been affected by cancer. Being a non-small cell lung cancer survivor herself, she is passionate about the availability of early diagnosis, assisting those who are undergoing treatment, and supporting them along their road to recovery. At a very early age, Amy had a spin casting rod in her hand and was fishing the tidal inlets of Charleston, SC with her dad. Eventually, she picked up a fly rod while vacationing in Jackson and was ‘hooked’. No matter where she finds herself fishing, she is in awe of the peace and beauty of her surroundings and the excitement of landing and safely releasing a fish. As a retired geoscientist, Amy enjoys the outdoors and now spends most of her time traveling, fishing, taking horse pack trips, shooting, and golfing with her friends & family.

Shannon Brooks Hamby

Shannon has spent 28 years in the Tetons and has been fly fishing for 20, thanks to the unceasing patience and guidance of her husband Curt. She volunteered as the event manager for Stripping once upon a time and has served on multiple boards on the Idaho side of the Tetons where she lives with her family. For the past 15 years she has been in leadership roles with human service organizations and is currently the Executive Director of Community Safety Network in Jackson. She is a breast cancer survivor and committed to ensuring that opportunities for treatment, wellness and holistic support for cancer survivors continue to evolve in our community.

Clairey Grubbs

Clairey was born and raised in Spartanburg, SC and moved to Jackson, WY in the winter of 94/95 at the young age of 19. As a lifelong conventional angler she was a bit stubborn about picking up a fly rod at first. It wasn’t until the spring of 2009 that she eventually gave in and began fly fishing full time. Ironically, or not, that is also a few months after she met her now husband, Cody. Clairey founded Lady Anglers of Wydaho after being inspired by the unique bond and connection she saw (and continues to see) female anglers sharing. She also works part-time for Orvis. She’s a loving wife, proud and sassy mama, and an avid fly angler. Her favorite fishing partners are her husband, their son, and the family’s Vizsla, Buck. When Clairey isn’t fishing, she’s usually talking about fishing, or posting about fishing. She’s a big hearted, creative individual with not much of a filter who loves making people laugh!

Susie McDowell

While fishing the South Fork of the Snake River accompanied by a female guide and her friend Kay Jones, Susie wondered how she could combine two things that were very important to her - getting more women involved in fly fishing and cancer. And so it was then that the idea was born to create a non-profit that brought female angers together in support of cancer. Being a two-time breast cancer survivor and seeing numerous family members battle the disease, including her daughter and sister, ignited a passion in her to help others. Susie first picked up a fly rod while vacationing with her family at a ranch in Saddlestring, WY. She was immediately hungry to learn more about the sport and continued to explore rivers in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Montana before moving to Jackson Hole in 1993. She now splits her time between Jackson Hole, WY and Naples, FL and spends as much time as she can traveling, fishing, golfing, and playing tennis with her friends and family. She has also taken great pleasure in introducing her granddaughters (and future Strippers), Daisy, Callie, and Clary, to the sport of fly fishing.
